The annual Woodley Community Carnival is all about bringing the local community together. Woodley Community Carnival is the biggest event of the year! Woodley has an amazing community spirit and carnival is all about uniting the community and putting on an event that everyone can enjoy.

Every year the Woodley Community Carnival celebration sees a vibrant procession as well as music concerts, entertainment, market stalls and activities that the whole family can enjoy! The Woodley Community Carnival’s main objective is to bring lots of joy to the local community.

The carnival is attended by almost 10,000 people and has been an annual event since 1960. It is the absolute heart and soul of the Woodley Community and carnival is something that creates memories that you can hold on to!

The 2021 Woodley Community Carnival date is Saturday 12th June 2021 around 10am and run into the night.

The Woodley Community Carnival is held at the Memorial Ground which is located on Headley Road at the end of Woodford Park. Woodley is a town in Berkshire, England. It is the biggest suburb of Reading that is situated about 6km east of the town centre.

How do they celebrate the Woodley Community Carnival?

Woodley Carnival of course all about community! That means that there are acts, shows and activities to suit all everyone’s tastes! The Woodley Carnival kicks off at around 11am for the Woodley Carnival Procession and finishes around 1:30pm.

The Carnival fair opens at midday where everyone can enjoy loads of fun and entertainment. There are loads of activities from singing, dancing and acrobatic performances to rides. At night those who want to continue the fun can stay and watch the Party in the Park and can bring a picnic along to enjoy listening to the awesome live music shows as well as watch the awesome firework display!

Woodley Community Carnival Day brings the community and businesses together in Woodford Park (Memorial ground) for a day of fun. The carnival is filled with stalls from local groups and charities, food stalls, beer tents, drink vendors. In fact there are over 100 different stalls on the field that cater for everyone.

The main arena has a stage set up for concerts that will put on lots of great entertainment from singing to dancing to acrobatic shows. There is lots of entertainment! You can see a dog show, photographic show, classic car show or a flower show. Also there are unique displays from local enthusiasts like a mobile petting farm, model railways, traction engines, caged birds and more.

There is a fun fair with rides for the kids. There will be a Carnival Information Gazebo where you can ask members of the committee any questions you may have. Of course there is a first aid tent to make sure the day runs smoothly. There is ample parking in the field adjacent to the carnival field and disabled toilets.

Woodley Community Carnival Evening Concert – “Party in the Park”

  • Time: 6:00pm – 10:30pm
  • Tickets: Purchased on the day at the Gates cost £10 for Adults and £5 for children.

The Wooley Community Carnival evening concert is a family-friendly concert. It is a popular part of carnival that kicks off after the day of after a day of festivities. It is a big party filled with fun and community spirit. All the stalls have packed up for the day creating lots of space in the park where families and friends can enjoy a picnic in the park while watching the bands.

It is incredibly laid-back and chilled out and there are 4 bands that will perform throughout the night. The food stalls are still open as well as a Carnival Pub so you can enjoy some delicious food or a few beverages. The event ends with a spectacular fireworks display that should not be missed.

Where do I buy tickets for the Woodley Community Carnival?

Tickets cannot be pre-purchased! You have to purchase tickets to the event at the gate on the day. If you are wanting to just watch the parade then this is a free event.

How to get to the Woodley Community Carnival?

You can get to Woodford Park by Train, Bus, or Tube. Reading is about an hour by train from London.
