Welcome to Mexico
Mexico is a land of tacos, tequila, the Mayans, Aztecs, Frida Kahlo, sombreros, Salma Hayak, ancient monuments, Spanish traditions, telenovelas, giant pyramids, colonial towns, incredible architecture, and landscapes that range from cactus-strewn deserts, to Caribbean coastlines, volcanos, agave farms and dense jungles.
Mexico is far from being a developing nation it has a robust economy an incredible contemporary arts and music scene. The country is also known for its violent drug wars, but while the violence is very real in parts of the country, for the most part you will find this to be an incredibly friendly and enjoyable place to visit with some of the friendliest people you will ever meet.
Carnival in Mexico features some of the most exuberant celebrations anywhere in the world. There are over 200 carnivals in Mexico each year with carnival celebrated in almost every town and village. The two most famous carnivals in Mexico are Veracruz and Mazatlán. Carnival is a vibrant, uninhibited and colourful celebration in Mexico. It is an opportunity to express joy, have fun, get wild, let loose and eat and drink in excess amounts.
