Welcome to the Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands is an autonomous British Overseas Territory situated in the western Caribbean Sea. This 264-square-kilometre territory comprises of three islands the largest being the Grand Cayman, then Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. They are located to the south of Cuba and just northeast of Honduras, in between Jamaica and the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.
While the Cayman Islands has an estimated population of around 59,613, this little island in the Caribbean receives around two million tourists every year. The majority are cruise ship passengers who come and spend a couple hours shopping or enjoying Seven Mile Beach.
The Cayman Islands are famous for being a financial hub and a bit of a tax haven for many international businesses and wealthy individuals. Around half the population comes from somewhere else – so these factors combined has made the Caymans an incredible cosmopolitan place to live. It is rich in local culture as well as natural beauty.
