Welcome to the Bahamas
This sub-tropical paradise is renowned as a favourite playground of sun starved North Americans. Sitting east of Florida in the North Atlantic, it consists of around 700 islands and over 2,000 cays, with the majority uninhibited. From the hustle and bustle of the capital Nassau to the deserted islands, there is an incredible amount of beaches, jungles, colonial towns, reefs and mesmerizing clear blue water.
Bahamas has all you need from a tropical paradise, you can explore pink sand beaches, sail around the historic Loyalist Cays, stay at the famous Atlantis resort, have some fun rum soaked nights, ponder pirates, indulge in water sports or just relax on the beach. The locals are famous for their incredible hospitality, it is a place that you definitely won’t want to leave.
The most anticipated event on the Bahamian calendar is carnival! Carnival in the Bahamas is called Junkanoo and is held every year on Boxing Day, the 26th December and New Year’s day, the 1st of January. Junkanoo is famous for their spectacular recyclable costumes made of crepe paper. It is one of the most fun carnival celebrations one can attend.
